Ridiculous Pants-More Myths
I am soaking wet from my crazy workout in the florida rain as I stumble upon this guy who just finished his evening jog. I notice he is in a crazy baggy silver suit that looks like he is wrapped up in tin foil with his normal workout clothes on top. I thought to myself “strange, but maybe he is a wrestler trying to make weight” I start talking to the guy and couldn’t help but ask him…(convo below)
Personal Trainer Lindsey: “Heeey there, blah blah blah……do you mind me asking, why are you wearing that crazy suit”.
Tin Foil Man:“What suit?”
Personal Trainer Lindsey:**thinks to herself** ” what do you mean WHAT suit?!?!… the one that looks like you wrapped yourself up in tin foil!!”-but responds politely ” the silver pants you are wearing?”
Tin Foil Man: “Because I don’t want cellulite”
***Let me paint the picture…this is a 6′2″ 215ish muscular black man that probably doesn’t have to worry about cellulite and we are both now in an elevator having this awkaward convo***
Personal Trainer Lindsey : “So your silver pants get rid of cellulite?”
Tin Foil Man: “Of course, it just melts away if you run with this on”
Personal Trainer Lindsey: “I hate to burst your bubble sir but there is no such thing as pants that melt away cellulite, nor is their such thing as spot reduction” – I told him I was a fitness trainer, etc….
Tin Foil Man: with an embarrassed look on his face “Ohh? Well then I guess it just makes me feel better mentally”
Personal Trainer Lindsey (smiling very big at this point in awe of what this world is coming to): “Well, as long as it is helping you in someway continue wearing it, but you should try drinking a lot more water, strength training on top of cardio and stay away from high cholesterol and fatty foods and that will help reduce cellulite.
All in all the convo ended with a smile on both of our faces and glad to have made a new friend…
Please spare yourself the embarrassment of ordering gimmicks online that don’t work and will probably end up making you look or feel silly in the long run.
Do me a favor? Start with the basics, lay off the sodas, alcohol, fried food, sugar and drink more water, eat more greens and get more sleep before you indulge in fitness marketing scams. I want to go ahead and guess that over 80% of fitness “tools” you see online or on tv DON’T work! Please ask a fitness professional before purchasing anything health/fitness related, that is what we are here for
Oh how I wish I had a picture…
